Hope you like my blog’s new look. I thought you also might like to get to know me better so I created a new bio.
Or maybe you’re just here for the recipes. That’s fine too.
The first thing I’d like to share is my fondness for lists. I keep lists everywhere, on paper, in my phone, on my chalkboard, etc. So here’s a list:
- When I was seven I baked a pan of brownies by myself. I haven’t stopped cooking since then.
- If I have a stressful day, I bake. I like knowing that if I measure all the ingredients correctly, the recipe will be turn out (unless I drop it on the floor, but even then, it will still taste good).
- I have always dreamed of owning an older house with lots of character. I knew that I would buy my house the moment I walked in the door.
- I love collecting vintage clothing and kitchen ware. I can’t drive by a thrift store or estate sale without stopping.
- My favorite TV show of all time is Dick Van Dyke. When Billy and I started dating, I couldn’t believe that he liked the show too.
- I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years. My mom decided to cut meat from our family’s diet, and soon after we were trying all sorts of new foods. Tofu, seaweed soup, borsch. The borscht was a failure and my mom put it in the yard. The raccoons loved it.
- I am frugal. I prefer to find furniture curbside and buy used when I can. It’s better for our planet and my bank account.
I hope you enjoyed learning a bit about me. Now it’s your turn – comment so I can get to know you better! I’d like to follow you, so please leave links to your blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Great new design! Oh, and I was inspired by your tu-no salad recipe and made a variation of it. It was delicious! Thanks for the recipe.
Thanks! Glad you like the design. Also happy that you made the tu-no salad. I always have a batch of that or hummus in the fridge.
I hadn’t seen it before, but it’s really pretty now! Nice and clean and uncluttered too.
Hi Noreen, lovely to come across your little space. You sound lovely! Like you, I buy most of our ‘things’ from the side of the road or at garage sales. I love the sound of your pumpkin pancakes, except I don’t think I can get pumpkin purée here in Australia. But I guess I can steam it and mash it… Visiting from BYW…x
